Whoops. We got lazy. I mean busy. Anyway here are the updates.
We will now be posting SIHP news on a weekly basis. If you or your band have any info, you should already be using the message board, but can also report it to anyone in the SIHP staff and they’ll put it up. For now, e-mail dani@sihardcorepunk.com until we make an email account just for news/tips. Check it out and leave some comments!
Also, we have another photo update from last night show’s at Martini Red here!
Check the calender for shows and submit yours to us for posting!
Okay bye!

A review of the May 22nd SIHP has gone up! We’re going to try to get to a few more show during June than we did in May.
With that said… promoters & bands who want their shows reviewed should email Cory. and arrange for it. All we ask is that our show reviewer and our photographer get in for free. Bands, please make sure that you don’t have to “guest list” the 2 people, as the review not only promotes you, but it promotes the show promoter’s ability to run a decent show, as well. I’ve been running shows for years, and I can tell you first hand that letting 2 people in for free is not going to hurt anybodies pocket. If you want a show reviewed that you are not running, email the promoter, and ask if he would want the show reviewed, as we only do full show reviews, and not just 1 or 2 bands.
If anybody is interested in writing for SIHP as a show reviewer, you should also email Cory! The requirements are: You must be 16 or older, able to review atleast 3 shows per month, and be able to be on call for shows that we need reviewed. We always give atleast a week’s notice when we need a review done. Obviously you don’t have to ALWAYS be available, since this is not a paying job, but if you know that you work weekends or don’t normally go to shows… then don’t email us!
Attn: Touring bands!
We have booked Wednesday, June 10th, at Dock St, and the touring band spot has opened up. If you are in a legitimately TOURING band, in need of a show on that date, email Cory ASAP. Again… a TOURING band. That means not a local band or a band that is just going to come to play one show. Please have respect for the bands who are working hard and touring and are normally in desperate need of week day shows.

Thanks to everybody who came to the show last night. There were about 60-65 kids there last night. Not the best turn out, but, we’ll take it! Pictures have already been posted, by Dani, and the review should be up tonight (or tomorrow, the latest!).
Coming soon: CD reviews of The Jazz Funeral, Everynightdrive, Racing Exit 13, as well as an interview with Shai Hulud by Aaron Lenza.
We still have a few reviews to post. But, Mike and Danny are slacking! That’s right. I said it.
An interview with Shai Hulud will be up within the next 24 hours, as well! So check back for that!

Success! The Shai Hulud show last night went better than I could have ever imagined. About 150 kids helped to make this one of the most memorable SIHP shows of all time. We can’t thank Shai Hulud enough for FINALLY coming out to Staten Island! For any body who missed it, don’t worry! They loved it here, almost as much as we loved having them, and we’ll definitely be hooking up some more shows with them in the future. Special thanks to Endwell (especially Matt!) for pushing the booking agency in charge of this tour to let us take the show, after the original date in Jersey was cancelled. Those boys tore it up last night. Enough about the show though… you’ll be able to read all about it tonight, when the review goes up.
Aside from the review, we’ve also got plenty of kick ass pictures, from Dani, going up whenever she finishes editing them, today. There will also be an interview with Shai Hulud, done by our good friend Aaron, who has agreed to start sending in articles, as well as an interview with Endwell (Although i’m not sure if the Endwell one ever actually happened…. so that may have to wait until a later date!), as done by another new writer, Emma! Welcome aboard, guys!
The next show that we will be hosting is this Friday, May 22nd, at Dock St, with: He Among Us, Knuckle Up!, Preaching To The Converted, Everynightdrive, Cobalt Sky & The Delay. It’s a very mixed show, so come out to it, because i’m sure something on this bill will please your ears! Have we steered you wrong yet? I didn’t think so. Come support your scene!
Other than that, nothing’s new. 7pm tomorrow night. Don’t be late! This is your last warning! I mean it!
Last, but not least… Chris Oliveri (of DAPS fame) is looking for 2 bands. One band that can cover all Green Day songs, and one that can cover all No Doubt songs. To play @ The Dugout. Email me if you are in a band who is interested!
As far as SIHP shows are concerned:
May 16th, Dock St: SHAI HULUD, ENDWELL, Straight Up!, Born Ready & On Twelve Systems

(PLEASE, IF YOU PLAN TO COME TO THIS SHOW, GET THERE EARLY! As most of you already know, Dock Street is NOT a huge venue, and Shai Hulud is, well, a HUGE band! So, if you do the imaginary math… that means that the club will probably get pretty packed, and at some point, we may have to stop letting people in. No exceptions!)
May 22nd, Dock St: He Among Us, Cobalt Sky, Preaching To The Converted, Knuckle Up!, The Delay, Every Night Drive
